A: The color reference card is used to interpret the pH of the sample by comparing the swab tip color to the colors on the card and their corresponding pH levels. It is also used to accurately guage the color change that can occurr over the entire range of pH levels that are clinically significant to the test . Using the card and buffers to familiarize yourself with the entire range possible is prudent for new customers in order to limit the incidence of misinterpretation.
